Although I have the original issue, I’m reviewing this story from the digital edition.
Archie and Reggie come across Cheryl at Muscle Beach. Yeah, Muscle Beach. Just how many damn beaches are there in the area? Cheryl’s swimsuit and hair-do are by Jill Audra Schoenfeld of Woodbridge, Connecticut. Anyway, Archie and Reggie get boners, but then Archie gets suspicious when he notices Cheryl is “all interested” in something. Mind your own business, asshole. Anyway, Cheryl is checking out the bodybuilders, one of whom, intentionally or not, looks like Jason.
Reggie gets the idea to ask Moose to train them in weightlifting, so they can impress Cheryl (but he’s too nervous, so Archie asks instead). It goes as well as you’d expect.
They get the hang of it after a few hours, but Cheryl ignores them and takes an interest in Moose instead.
Cheryl flirts with Moose and asks him to be her personal trainer, which pisses Archie and Reggie off. Midge comes by and asks the guys if they’ve seen Moose. To Archie’s surprise, Reggie tells her. Archie suggests warning Cheryl, but Reggie watches happily as a pissed-off Midge storms up behind Cheryl and Moose.
This story was very trite and superficial. Not much happened, and Cheryl was barely involved. It was mostly about Archie, Reggie, and Moose.
